Linear Shaped Charge (LSC) or Charge Linear Cutting (CLC) is an explosive powder enclosed in a seamless copper sheath with continuous explosives lengths shaped in an inverted “V”. When detonated, the V-shaped metal liner with explosive core produces a uniform linear cut. This action, known as “Monroe effect”, can be mastered by controlling the LSC /CLC dimensions and configuration, explosive type and load, liner thickness and continuity. This high velocity jet impacts the target with pressures exceeding the target’s yield strength and literally pushes the target material to either side of the path of the jet.
