RDS-6725 Wireless Detonation System for EOD & IEDD
Encrypted UHF remote initiation with field-replaceable CR123 batteries
The RDS-6725 is a closed-loop UHF wireless detonation system for EOD and IEDD teams, made in Pakistan from Al Efah Technologies. One hand-held Master Control Unit (MCU) commands 1 to 20 Remote Firing Units (RFUs). It can fire them one at a time or in a programmed sequence with preset delays. Communication is encrypted on 10 factory-set channels. Range is 2–3 km in urban terrain and 7–10 km line of sight. Each IP67 Aluminium unit runs on four removable CR123 lithium batteries.

- Built-in checks: self-test in the MCU and RFUs, a continuity tester in every RFU, and galvanic isolation against ground loops and voltage spikes.
How the RDS-6725 works
The system is a closed radio loop between the MCU and its RFUs. The operator sends a command from the MCU. Each RFU decodes and executes it, and reports its battery status and the continuity of the connected detonator or EOD cartridge bridge.
Hand-held Master Control Unit (MCU)
The MCU has a waterproof aluminium housing containing the UHF transceiver and microcontroller-based control circuitry. Its digital communication enables encryption. The MCU can fire a single RFU, or be programmed to fire several RFUs in sequence with preset delays. Firing needs a two-hand command. The MCU weighs 850 g, measures 150 × 100 × 50 mm and runs at least 10 hours at 20 °C.
Remote Firing Unit (RFU)
Each RFU has a waterproof aluminium housing and a UHF transceiver matched to its MCU. It fires by capacitive discharge at 350–400 V, delivering up to 10 J of bridge firing energy. The RFU weighs 850 g, measures 150 × 100 × 50 mm and has a built-in continuity tester.
Safety features
- Two-hand firing command on the MCU.
- The firing command can be cancelled within a specified time.
- An arming-delay safety timer of at least 1 minute.
- Reliable isolation of the charging capacitor from the firing circuit.
- Unique serial numbers and an encrypted system.
- Galvanic isolation, giving protection from ground loops and voltage spikes.
Mounting on the EAD-20S disruptor and PCR-02 robot
RDS-6725 Remote Firing Units mount directly on two Al Efah systems. On the EAD-20S IED disruptor, the operator places the disruptor and fires it from a safe stand-off distance. On the PCR-02 EOD robot, the robot carries the RFU and disruptor to the target, so no one has to approach the device.
Standard kit
The standard RDS-6725 kit contains one hand-held MCU and five RFUs in a hard transit case measuring 47 × 36 × 21 cm. You can order more RFUs, up to 20 per MCU.
RDS-6725 vs RDS-6722
Both are encrypted UHF remote initiation systems for EOD and IEDD. The RDS-6725 differs in three ways:
- Batteries: four removable CR123 lithium cells instead of the RDS-6722’s built-in rechargeable pack. Teams carry spare cells rather than relying on mains or vehicle charging.
- Weight: 850 g per MCU and per RFU, lighter than the RDS-6722.
- Cost: the RDS-6725 is the lower-cost option.

Frequently asked questions
What is the RDS-6725?
The RDS-6725 is a closed-loop UHF wireless detonation system for EOD and IEDD operations, made in Pakistan by Al Efah Technologies. One hand-held Master Control Unit commands up to 20 Remote Firing Units, firing them individually or in a programmed sequence with preset delays.
What is the range of the RDS-6725?
The RDS-6725 reaches 2–3 km in urban terrain and 7–10 km line of sight.
What batteries does the RDS-6725 use?
Each MCU and RFU uses four removable CR123 lithium batteries, which can be replaced in the field. At 20 °C, the MCU runs for at least 10 hours, and an RFU lasts at least 175 hours (7 days) in sleep mode.
What comes in the RDS-6725 kit?
The standard kit contains one hand-held Master Control Unit and five Remote Firing Units in a hard transit case measuring 47 × 36 × 21 cm. Additional RFUs can be ordered, up to 20 per MCU.
Can the RDS-6725 be exported?
Yes. The RDS-6725 is available for export to qualified government, military and law-enforcement buyers. Allow about three months for End-User Certificate (EUC) processing and the export licence.
Can the RDS-6725 be mounted on a disruptor or robot?
Yes. RDS-6725 Remote Firing Units mount on Al Efah’s EAD-20S IED disruptor and on the PCR-02 EOD robot.
How does the RDS-6725 prevent accidental firing?
Firing requires a two-hand command on the MCU, and an arming-delay timer of at least 1 minute. The firing command can be cancelled within a specified time. The charging capacitor is isolated from the firing circuit, and the system uses unique serial numbers with encryption.
