Aircraft IR Flare FL-17
The FL-17 is an advanced infrared (IR) countermeasure flare designed to protect aircraft from heat-seeking missiles. It is direct replacement for MJU-7 flare, the FL-17 offers superior performance and compatibility across a wide range of aircraft and helicopters. Constructed with a durable aluminum case, the flare houses a high-performance incendiary pellet. Its compact design ensures efficient integration with various flare dispenser systems, including the NATO ALE-40/45/47/52 and Mohafiz CFD.
The FL-17 is deployed using the BBU-36/B impulse cartridge. This cartridge must be installed on the flare immediately before use and stored separately when not in use. The assembled flare is then securely mounted within the aircraft’s payload module.
Replacement of MJU-7 IR flare
Suitable for Chinese & NATO aircraft.
Storage life 9 & installed life 1 year.

BBU-36A/B
The BBU-36 Impulse Cartridge is designed to propel flares like the MJU-7 and FL-17 from their case. It ignites instantly upon receiving an electrical signal, generating powerful gas pressure to eject the flare from the aircraft. Once deployed, the flare’s incendiary payload burns brightly, creating a infrared decoy. The cartridge’s secure O-ring design ensures reliable performance under demanding flight conditions.
It is compatible with both NATO and non-NATO dispensing systems, including the
ALE-40/45/47/52, Mohafiz CFD and GT-1P. For safety, cartridges should be installed on flare cartridges immediately before flight and stored separately.
