MINE DETECTOR WITH GPR

AET-MR1

The AET-MR1 is a dual-sensor mine detector from Al Efah Technologies. It combines electromagnetic induction with ground-penetrating radar (GPR) to find landmines and unexploded ordnance buried underground. It is designed for wartime and post-conflict demining. It also supports peacekeeping, counter-terrorism and security inspections by locating explosives, firearms, knives and other hazardous items hidden underground, underwater or inside buildings.

AET-MR1 dual-sensor mine detector with ground-penetrating radar search head

Key features

  • Detects IEDs: the ground-penetrating radar finds objects concealed within different materials, including IEDs built with non-metallic components.
  • Landmine detection: adjustable sensitivity lets it reliably find mines with minimal metal content, even at greater depths.
  • UXO search: optimized for shallow-depth surveys and a wide range of metallic objects, including unexploded ordnance.
  • Easy to use: vibration, audio and visual display alarms, and operators can be trained quickly.
  • Soil compensation and cable detection: works in clay, sand, magnetic soil and red soil, and can detect cables.
  • Field-ready: works from -40 °C to +50 °C, in moderate rain and at water depths up to 1 m.

AET-MR1 or AET-M3E?

The AET-MR1 adds ground-penetrating radar to the metal detector, so it can find IEDs with non-metallic components. For a lighter (≤ 3 kg), foldable metal-only detector with 12+ hours of battery life, see the AET-M3E mine detector.

Frequently asked questions

What is the AET-MR1?

The AET-MR1 is a dual-sensor mine detector from Al Efah Technologies. Its search head combines a metal detector with ground-penetrating radar (GPR) to find landmines, IEDs and unexploded ordnance.

Can the AET-MR1 detect non-metallic IEDs?

Yes. Its ground-penetrating radar detects objects concealed within different materials, including IEDs built with non-metallic components.

How deep can the AET-MR1 detect mines?

It detects a Type 72 anti-personnel mine at a depth of 18 cm or more. Sensitivity can be set to high, medium or low.

How long does the AET-MR1 battery last?

It works continuously for up to 6 hours. An extra battery can be ordered.

Can the AET-MR1 be used in rain or water?

Yes. It works in moderate rain and at water depths up to 1 m, from -40 °C to +50 °C.

How does the AET-MR1 alert the operator?

It has audio, visual (display) and vibration alarms, and operators can be trained quickly.
